Academy

Our Youth Academy (U9/U10) is designed to get young players quality coaching and implement 3RSC’s curriculum of technical and tactical (small sided) concepts to players so that they are prepared to transition into District soccer (U11) and potentially to Regional Club League soccer (U13+) down the road.

The Youth Academy teams play in the Central Washington Development League, administered by Washington Premier League. Teams from this league come from Central and Southeastern Washington (Yakima, Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Walla Walla, etc.).

Teams play 8-10 games in the fall and 6 games in the spring.

This league features no overnight stay for league games, and usually 1-2 summer tournaments.  Although most games are played on Saturdays, some Sunday games may be necessary.

Teams in our Academy Program are formed via tryouts in late spring for the following fall/spring soccer year. Players who are selected for our Academy program are placed on a team with players with relatively similar skill level, and that team is placed in a Development League division with similar opponents.

Teams may be formed with mixed U9/U10 players or may be formed as a true U9 or a true U10 team, depending on numbers at tryouts. All players return to their proper age group at U11, meaning that if a team is mixed ages with U9s and U10s, the U9s will play another year of Academy while the U10s will graduate into competitive soccer at U11. Mixed teams do not graduate out of Academy as a whole team.
